MISSION

The Network increases the distribution of financial education materials to children and adults statewide, particularly in low and moderate income areas, and allows greater access to materials that will help families teach their children how to manage money and make informed financial decisions.

GOALS

Expand the Network to include as many financial education providers, non-profits, and community groups as possible.

Establish a statewide distribution network of financial education materials and workshops

Develop the capability for financial education providers to conduct a financial literacy needs assessment of individual consumers, provide the consumer with an assessment indicating areas of weakness, and list financial education materials that may be helpful.

Track the progress of consumers who participate in financial education programs offered by organizations partnering in NJFLAN.

Increase the distribution of NJFLAN Learning Centers (5ft tall) to display financial education materials available in New Jersey.

Capture data from local financial education providers that participate in the Network, and categorize by organization, municipality, county, and statewide.  This data may help identify statewide needs and trends.
